Frequently asked questions
Can I try before I buy?
Yes. Reporter Free is entirely free with no time limit — install it as a PWA and use all four record types with no account needed. The Free Account tier (also free) lets you connect Reporter to the Notice Board dashboard for one site. You can evaluate the platform fully before committing to a paid plan.
How is pricing calculated?
Paid plans are priced per account per month, based on the number of physical sites you connect. There are no per-record fees, no per-user fees, and no storage charges within fair-use limits. Annual billing receives a 20% discount over monthly rates.
What counts as a site?
A site is a distinct physical location — a building, warehouse, depot, or facility — with its own Reporter PWA installation. If your team uses multiple devices at the same location, that still counts as one site. Multiple buildings on the same estate that share a single Reporter installation also count as one site.
Is my data stored in the UK?
Yes. All Notice Board data — including synced records, attachments, and account information — is stored exclusively in UK data centres. We do not transfer personal data outside the United Kingdom. Billing is handled by Stripe; Stripe's processing is covered by standard contractual clauses. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and will not renew at the end of the current billing period. Annual subscriptions can be cancelled and will not renew at the end of the annual term. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused months on annual plans, but we will consider requests in exceptional circumstances. Your data remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation, giving you time to export everything.
What happens to my data if I downgrade or cancel?
Your records are never deleted when you change plans. If you downgrade to a Free Account, you retain read access to all previously synced records. If you cancel entirely, your data is held for 30 days before deletion, and you can export a full JSON backup at any time from within the dashboard. Reporter Free stores records locally on-device independently of your account.
